Over the years older pools are going to be more prone to the development of cracks and other types of issues. This is also something that is going to be more common in pools that don’t get the right type of treatment that they need. Concrete pools are usually going to be needing a bit more maintenance than other types of pools. That is usually because the concrete is going to need some help coping with the water.
 
Small Cracks & Issues 
It is not uncommon to see pool decks and even pools themselves start to have cracks forming in them. If you set up a concrete path virtually anywhere on your property at the same time as your pool deck you are probably going to see that pool decks tend to wear down a lot quicker. That is just the continued presence of moisture. What we need to do in these cases is always make sure that we seal cracks and minor issues in time. Overlooking these situations can lead to more serious issues over a short period of time.
 
Will Draining The Pool Constantly Help? 
There are people that are going to say that you need to drain the pool every couple of years and make sure that it is repainted and all of that. Usually, general consensus states that a pool can be left full for around five years without any major consequences. Just as long as the concrete structure has been properly prepared to handle the presence of water. So to answer the question, we really think that a full pool is actually going to take less damage than keeping an empty pool.
